What ML LABS is

One person — Omar Trejo — who scopes AI systems, builds them, and stays accountable for them once they are running. Not an agency, not a bench of contractors, and not a staffing arrangement. The name on the plan is the name doing the work.

Who does the work

15+ years building operational intelligence software that Fortune 500 companies and fast-moving startups still run today. Omar scopes it, builds it, and stays responsible for it himself — one person, with no one else in between. He also runs our own products at Escape Velocity Labs, so we live with what we build.

What it costs

• DESIGN — $20K. A plan we commit to, a price that won't change, and working proof on your own data — before you pay for the Build.
• BUILD — $45K–150K. Watch it do the real job and meet the targets we put in writing — then decide, with the proof in front of you.
• OPERATE — $15K–30K/mo. Someone whose job is to act when the work breaks or slowly gets worse — so it keeps working and you can stop thinking about it. Leave anytime, 30 days' notice.

Entry is a $750 scoping session: a written plan, a budget range, and a go or no-go, credited in full against the next step. There is no free discovery call — the plan is a piece of work with a deliverable and a refund behind it, not a sales meeting.

The guarantee

Targets are written into the contract before work starts. Design and Build carry a full refund until acceptance — you sign when it's proven, or, once we've shown the targets met in writing, a 15-business-day evaluation window runs and closing it without naming a missed target is acceptance too. Either way you give up the system, not the money. Operate is different on purpose: no refunds, no lock-in — cancel any time with 30 days' notice.

If the one person is unavailable

A team of forty has redundancy you do not get here. We are not going to pretend otherwise — it is the one row in the comparison below that an agency wins outright.

• Everything lives in your repository from day one. Code, runbook, and the architecture record land in a repository you own, continuously — not as a handover event at the end. There is no version of this where the work is trapped somewhere you cannot reach.
• Credentials live in your secret store. Never in a repository, ours or yours. You grant access scoped to the statement of work and you revoke it whenever you decide to.
• No standby engineer on retainer — and we will not pretend otherwise. Some firms answer this with a named successor kept on standby. We do not have one, and inventing one would be exactly the kind of reassurance this section refuses to give you. The structural answer is the one above: because the repository, the runbook and the credentials are already yours, whoever picks the work up — your own team, or someone you hire — starts from a written system rather than an excavation. That is a difference you can check in month one instead of discovering in month fourteen.
• An unavailability clause with teeth. If ML LABS goes non-responsive for five consecutive business days, Operate fees stop and prorate to that date. You are not paying for silence, and the handover package is already in your hands because it always was.
